CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS ACCEPTED

Adult CPR/AED - $35.00

This course teaches you how to recognize a breathing or cardiac emergency in an adult and when to call for EMS support. Learn about the role of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and how to safely use an AED on a victim of sudden cardiac arrest. This course meets the guidelines identified by OSHA. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an Adult CPR/AED certification valid for one year.

Infant and Child CPR - $35.00

This course teaches you how to use the EMS system, rescue breathing and chest compressions to revive infants (birth to 1 year) and children (1 year to 12 years). Upon successful completion of the course, the students will receive an Infant and Child CPR certification valid for one year.

Adult CPR/AED, Infant and Child CPR - $45.00 

Trains individuals to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in infants, children and adults. Upon successful completion, the students receive an Adult CPR/AED, Child, and Infant certification valid for one year. (Note: Course will be held over two days)

CPR Challenge - $35.00

This course is for individuals who hold a CURRENT CPR card and have held certification for 3 consecutive years. THERE WILL BE NO TEACHING IN THIS CHALLENGE. A skills and written test will be administered. Scoring less than 80% will result in a non-passing grade. Enrollment in a full course will be required and passing score achieved to receive certification.

This course is for individuals with a current Adult, Infant, & Child CPR certificate, issued within the previous year. The course emphasis is on skill review. Upon successful completion, the student will receive Adult, Infant & Child/AED certificates valid for one year.

First Aid - $35.00

This course teaches procedures for the immediate care of emergencies such as bleeding, shock, poisoning, and broken bones. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive First Aid certification valid for three years.

(* Day Care providers may take this course, along with Infant & Child CPR, to meet the 6 hour First Aid requirement. When registering, please state that you are taking the course for Day Care.)

Adult CPR/Automated External Defibrillator/First Aid - $45.00 

This course will give individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for persons 9 years and older for breathing, cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illness. Upon successful completion, the students will receive 2 certifications: an Adult CPR/AED certification valid for one year and a Standard First Aid certificate valid for three years.

Adult CPR/AED, Infant & Child CPR and First Aid - $55.00 

This course teaches people how to use the EMS system, infant, child and adult CPR, first aid techniques for bleeding, shock, injuries, and medical emergencies. This course may be used to meet Ohio Day Care Licensing requirements for in-service training 5101:22-12-30. Upon successful completion, students will receive 2 certifications: Adult CPR/AED, Infant and Child CPR valid for one year and First Aid certification valid for three years.

This course provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a safe environment to athletes aged 9 and above, while they are participating in sports and in an emergency. To help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives. This course meets the Ohio Department of Education requirements for Pupil Activity Supervisor Validation (per ORC 251-97). Upon successful completion, students will receive Adult CPR certification (valid for one year) and a Sport Safety Training certificate (valid for three years).

First Aid and Preparedness (Adult) - $ 5.00

This course is ideal if you want lifesaving skills, but don't want or need to receive the certification awarded by traditional Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED training. This one-hour course shows you the key steps to handling conscious and unconscious choking, breathing emergencies, shock, bleeding, burns, allergic reactions, bites and stings.

First Aid and Preparedness (Youth) (Aged 6 - 11) - $ 3.00

This course teaches the three action steps for emergency preparedness - get a kit, make a plan and be informed. Also teaches participant on how to prevent, recognize and respond to emergencies that youth are most likely to encounter. This course instructs the student to recognize and respond to someone who is choking and how to control bleeding.

Pet First Aid - $35.00     

This course teaches the immediate and temporary care given to an injured dog or cat until it can be taken to a veterinarian for more definitive medical care. Learn care for choking, breathing problems and CPR. Upon successful completion, the student receives a Has Attended certificate.

Basic Aid Training (BAT) - $20.00

This course introduces children ages 8-12 years old to safety information and first aid procedures for breathing difficulties, bleeding, poisoning, burns, shock, and other emergencies. Helps Home schoolers meet first aid requirements. Upon successful completion, the students will receive a Basic Aid Training certificate.

Bloodborne Pathogens - $15.00 

This course prepares employees regarding safe workplace practices, to report and follow-up on employee exposures to infectious materials. This course meets the educational requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Administration - Blood Borne Pathogen Standard (Section 1910.1030). Upon successful completion, students will receive a Has Completed certificate in Preventing Disease Transmission.

Sport Safety Training - $ 50.00

Recognition, Prevention and Management of Communicable Diseases Cost: $30.00 (6-hour course required for childcare personnel)

This course has been designed and approved to meet the requirements for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Ohio Department of Education for the communicable disease training in licensed childcare centers (Section 5101:2-12-27) * Must attend both sessions to receive certificate.

This course is for individuals who have already completed the 6-hour course.

CPR / AED for the Professional Rescuer         Cost: $55.00 

For the professional rescuers (those with a duty to respond) the skills needed to respond appropriately to respiratory and cardiac emergencies for the adult, child and infant. 2-person CPR and AED is included.

Back Injury Prevention                                             NO CHARGE

This course introduces you to the knowledge necessary to identify and reduce the risk of back injury.

Course will be held at the Ohio Back Care Center, 2835 Cleveland Road, Wooster

 

Preparing for the Unexpected                                NO CHARGE

Learn how to prepare for any type of disaster, including a terrorist attack, and respond to direction from authorities.  * We can provide this presentation at your workplace or community group (minimum of ten people)

Pandemic Flu                                                            NO CHARGE

This is a 45 minute presentation discussing: what to expect during a flu pandemic, the differences between seasonal flu and pandemic flu, how the influenza virus spreads, ways to help prevent the spread of the flu in the workplace, in the community and at home and how to prepare for a flu pandemic. We can make a presentation to your organization at your site, with a minimum of 20 people. Call 330-264-9383 for additional information.

       

Heart Matters                                                                NO CHARGE

Did you know that about 1.1 million Americans will have a heart attack this year? Learn how to survive if it happens to you or someone else. This is a non-certified course.

Registration

Class size is limited and registration is necessary. Classes will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Prepayment is necessary to reserve your registration. You must pre-register for all courses at the American Red Cross Wayne County Chapter building in downtown Wooster. Mail-In Registration: Mail registrations (check or money order - NO CASH) made payable to the American Red Cross, sent to ARC, Wayne County Chapter, 244 West South Street, Wooster, Ohio 44691.

Phone Registration: Registration can be completed by phone, payment should also be sent to the above address. Credit card (MasterCard or VISA) payments are accepted.

Walk-In Registration: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Refund Policy

Refunds will be issued for courses cancelled by the American Red Cross. No refunds will be issued for non-attendance of a scheduled class previously paid for. Students need to cancel from a course 5 days prior to the scheduled date to receive full reimbursement. However, a paid tuition can be applied towards another course if it is rescheduled within 10 business days.

Program Cancellations

The American Red Cross reserves the right to cancel programs due to insufficient class registrations.
